'Real Techniques' make-up brushes REVIEW! | CarolynNotCaroline

Hi everyone. Today's post as you can see is on the copper/orange coloured base/flawless core collection 'Real Techniques' make-up brushes by Samantha Chapman. I've wanted to try new make-up brushes for awhile now so after being recommended by a friend and by researching reviews myself, I picked up this set (above) as seen on Pixiwoo's channel on Youtube. All I can say is, WOW! For 25 something quid you are really are getting your moneys worth and not wasting a penny! You can purchase these brushes in any drugstore. I got mine from Boots and the set cost me just under €26 which was astonishing because I was expecting to perhaps only get two brushes not alone four for that price! I really recommend these brushes to people who want good quality yet affordable make-up brushes.

{From left to right}

Brush 1: Contour Brush:

Description: (delicately applies highlighter to contour or create sheer, soft-focus finish)

I use this brush to contour mostly the hallow where my cheek bones are and under my chin. It is a brush I have used daily since I've purchased it! The bristles are so soft on the face and it applies blush/powder lightly on the face. The effect is evidence visually but your face doesn't feel like you have tons of make-up on.

Brush 2: Pointed Foundation Brush:

Description: (use with liquid foundation to build custom coverage)
This is the only brush in the entire set that I was not happy with. It is a very well construct brush, I just didn't think it was ideal for me to apply my foundation because I found it too small. Because of it's size I now use this brush for concealer under my eyes and nose.

Brush 3: Detailer Brush:

Description: (precision cut to effortlessly conceal problem areas; or, use with lipstick for long lasting shape and definition)
I love this brush. It is very pointed and slim and very ideal for the lips. I use it to apply and blend lip liner and lipsticks. I have also realised it is good to highlight under the eyebrow and contour your nose.

Brush 3: Buffing Brush:

Description: (ideal for full coverage application of powder and mineral foundation)
This brush is my favourite in the package! The bristles(like on all the brushes) are so soft. I have used this brush daily since I've purchased it. I use it to apply blush on my cheeks and then use it to powder my face to hold my make-up in place and it really does itself justice!

✔ - I think these brushes are very good for travelling. The provided compact case with handle as shown in the image allows you to fit it into any suitcase or travel hand bag if you were going on a holiday. The compact case provided also keeps your make-up brushes organised and neat.

✔ - The brushes are very affordable.

✔ - They are also well made(very sturdy handles) and very easy to clean.

✔ - The brushes are very smooth and have synthetic bristles so they are very good for people who may have damaged or sensitive skin.

✔ - They apply make up very lightly so your make-up does not feel very heavy and cake-like on your face.

✘ - The only thing I was disappointed with in this set was the 'foundation' brush because I thought it was quite small and didn't give a lot of coverage on the face as it said on the description. I now use this brush for concealer instead because it is a very good brush.

Lastly I'd like to say if you have never heard of Pixiwoo before I highly suggest you check out their website and Youtube. They have so many celebrity inspired and unusual make-up tutorials that you will never get bored of watching their videos. One of my favs indeed! Anyway I hope you have enjoyed this post and have a nice day! x
